I love to communicate ideas through beautiful
 things.
I'm a designer and organization enthusiast.
Hi my name is Kristina Starr.

Having nearly finished my bachelor's

degree in Business Marketing, I have been continuously striving to leverage my craft by incorporating business strategies into my designs. With an interest in consumer behavior, my creative designs take into account not only the needs of the customer but also the goals of the company. My designs help add value to your brand by creating something truly unique to help differentiate you from your competitors.

 I  have

always  found that my intuition guides my creative work

Well hello! My name is Kristina Starr. I am 23 years young and am currently in my final semester at the University of Central Florida, majoring in Business Marketing. It has been an amazing journey to get to where I am today. If you want to learn more about how I discovered my passions, just keep reading.

Growing up I was homeschooled by my mother and was blessed to have the opportunity to travel to every state in the continental U.S. (still waiting on Alaska & Hawaii). Traveling the country with my family in an RV exposed me to so many different people, places, and things at such a young age. I quickly learned how to talk to adults better than most kids my age. Since I can remember, I have always had a multitude of interests. Guitar, singing, songwriting, cosmetology, graphic design, psychology, photography, to name a few (notice a common theme?). Because of the diversity of my interests, for most of college I never really knew what I wanted to do for a career. My head and heart has always pulled me in a million different directions. When I thought about my future I'd overwhelm myself by the many different paths I could go down. Then one day it hit me, I don't have to choose just one.

GREATEST

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Straight A's in high school

  • Lost nearly 60 pounds

  • Playing guitar since 9

  • Visited 48 states

In high school, I took web design classes and really enjoyed it and found myself naturally good at it. By only 14 years old I was building custom Tumblr themes with HTML and CSS by myself and was making money through Google advertising. I would spend hours, and I mean hours, working out every last detail. Beginning my senior year of high school, I began running my very own YouTube channel centered around beauty and gained a good amount of subscribers. I even showed off my interior design skills by posting a "Room Tour" video which ended up gaining nearly 235,000 views, even appearing number one on YouTube's search results. My YouTube compiled my interests in graphic design, photography, cosmetology, and communication all into one.

Then college came. Not knowing exactly what to do, I declared myself as a graphic design major since I liked web design but was clearly more into the design aspect than the developing. My freshman classes were very art based and I didn't feel like it was for me. I wanted more of a business approach to design. But, that's not to say that I didn't take away some very important lessons. I took "Drawing 101" where I learned that I had a natural talent for drawing. I also took photography (probably my 3rd photography class I've taken) and rediscovered my passion for being behind the lenses. I then switched majors to Communications. For just one semester I considered broadcasting & journalism. I was all over the place.

And we can't forget about music. Music is where my creativity first began. I learned how to play the guitar at the age of nine and have always used music as a way to express what I was feeling. I'd like to say that I have a talent for writing. I have written over 30 songs. I really dove into my musical passion during college (which we can't forget because I probably annoyed so many students in the dorms [paper-thin walls]).

After my first year of college I decided to transfer to a community college to save money since I was obviously still confused on what I wanted to do. During my next two years in school I found an intense passion for psychology; becoming extremely fascinated by how humans think, behave, and interact. I was particularly fascinated by different personality types. It was at that point I began redirecting my focus to psychology.

To complicate things even more, around my second year of college I began working part-time at Ulta Beauty. I always had a passion for cosmetology (obviously since I made beauty videos on Youtube) but working at Ulta had me thinking a lot more about business. During my nearly two years of working there I was able to increase sales by not only providing exceptional customer service but also from my suggestions to managers of the repositioning of products throughout the store.  Plus, being extremely outgoing, I love to talk to people! I enjoy inspiring and motivating others. I contemplated for some time following in my father's footsteps and going into business (he always said I was very convincing). I considered several different routes: packaging design, advertising, and sales. It was at that point when I truly learned what marketing entailed.

I transferred to the University of Central Florida (where I am currently finishing my senior year) and finally chose to major in Marketing. I realized that a career in marketing encompassed all of my interests into one. Sales, psychology (consumer behavior), and web design. It has been quite the journey to get to where I am now. I am still unsure of what exactly my future job will entail but I know that as long as it includes at least one of my passions, I won't work a day in my life.
